Reiki For Animals
Reiki for animals is a holistic healing practice that channels universal life energy to help promote physical, emotional, and mental well-being in pets and other animals. Originating from Japan, Reiki (meaning “universal life energy”) works by transferring healing energy through the practitioner’s hands, either directly onto the animal or from a distance, which can be especially helpful for animals who are anxious or sensitive to touch.
Animals, like humans, can experience stress, trauma, illness, or behavioral issues, and Reiki is believed to help balance their energy, support the healing process, and encourage relaxation. This gentle, non-invasive method can be used alongside traditional veterinary treatments to enhance overall well-being, reduce pain, speed recovery from surgery, or ease anxiety in animals who have been rescued or are in new environments.
Reiki is widely considered safe for all animals – dogs, cats, horses, and even birds or reptiles. Animals are naturally drawn to Reiki energy and often relax, lie down, or show signs of relief during a session.
Sessions can last anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour and a half.
